We have completed the 3rd Round of our Marine Litter Watch activity in Fener Bay, Didim, Aydın.

82% PLASTIC!!! We have completed the 3rd Round of our Marine Litter Watch activity in Fener Bay, Didim, Aydın. This time, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality also joined Didim Municipality. While Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay, Cleaning Affairs Manager Aslı Kıray attended with her team, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department Head İbrahim Gürdal and his team also attended.

28 people have attended in total, for 300 m, in 2 hours. The 450 kg of waste collected on the shoreline which has been consisted of 759 pieces, of which 619, 82% of which were plastic!

The only thing we were happy about was that the amount of waste we found decreased significantly when compared to the previous event. The last time we went on February 06, we collected a total of 5365 pieces of waste weighing 1.5 tons.

We are waiting for the news of those who want to join us in our effort to protect the environment and leave a clean world for future generations!

Turkey Foundation for Environmental Education (TÜRÇEV)

Blue Flag

The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development of beaches, marinas and yachts through strict criteria dealing with Water Quality, Environmental Education and Information, Environmental Management, and Safety and Other Services.
The Blue Flag Programme is owned and run by the non-government, non-profit organisation the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Green Key

Green Key is a voluntary eco-label for tourism facilities that promotes sustainable tourism and aims to contribute to the prevention of climate change by awarding and advocating facilities with positive environmental initiatives. Green Key began in Denmark in 1994 and was adopted by FEE in 2002 to become its fifth international Programme. It has since spread to more than 40 countries and continues to grow in numbers and spread across the world.

Young Reporters for the Environment

Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is a network of passionate young people educating for sustainable development by producing, engaging, creative, environmental journalism. Coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), YRE is in more than 25 countries worldwideand growing!
Participants, aged 11-21, investigate environmental issues and problems and report on them through written, photographic or video journalism, wherever possible proposing solutions.
