8. Marina Blue Flag Representatives Training and Sustainability Workshop was held in Bodrum-isis Hotel on 10-11 May 2018. At the end of the seminar, certificates were given to the Blue Flag representatives who attended the training.

The 8th Marina Blue Flag Officers Training, where presentations and information on the implementation of Blue Flag criteria in the marinas were held, was attended by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Coast Guard Command, IMEAK Chamber of Shipping, Bodrum District Governor, Bodrum Deputy Mayor, Bodrum Municipality Officials from Muğla Port Authority, Muğla Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, Marine Tourism Association, as well as officials representing 20 marinas.

In the training seminar, a workshop was organized on the sustainability program which also was added to the Blue Flag criteria for the first time this year, and the subject of “Marina of the Future – Being Sustainable” was discussed in depth.

Regarding the Training and Certification meeting, TÜRÇEV Chairperson of the Board Rıza Tevfik Epikmen made the following statement: “As a national responsible institution, our foundation takes care to ensure that the standards of our internationally awarded Blue Flag beaches and marinas are higher than other countries. It believes that this goal can be achieved with a close relationship with the marinas and continuously renewed training programs.

At the national level, a training seminar is organized every two years to ensure that the Marina Blue Flag Representatives have up-to-date information, obtain information through experts on key issues, benefit from model implementations and experiences, and exchange ideas.
